Quote of my day
So I was in the computer lab when Frankie H and his buddies come in and proceed to be as loud and obnoxious as humanely possible, just like they always do. So Frankie’s friends goes, “Hey, do you know that people in Sudan have an independence day?”
And Frankie says, “Well people in Sudan arn’t actually people since they’re not white.”
This is completely amazing to hear someone say because it really never ocurred to me that people couldn’t be people unless they were white. It doesn’t even matter that Frankie is black, there is obviously a big difference between being black in America than there is being black in Sudan that makes American blacks more human than Sudanese blacks. That, or Frankie just does not realize he is black.
Well I really hate it when people say shit like that, and as soon as his friend goes “Independence day in Sudan..” my ears perk up because I just knew it would be followed by with something completely racists/ignorant/offensive, etc. And when it was I had to revert my eyes because I did not want them to see the black girl get all pissed off, and I actually didn’t get pissed off, I just questioned my humanity for a bit.
I know it’s wrong to allow yourself to judge and stereotype a whole group of people based on some experience you’ve had with them so I wil not say that I slightly dislike African Americans, because (1) they’re not all like that, and (2) some of my best friends are African American, and also sometimes people are stupid but that doesn’t make them evil, vile, devils or whatever.
Most people anyway
